What We Offer You
We want to attract motivated successful graduates who can develop and hone their skills along with learning and using new ones during our two year graduate training scheme.
The scheme will guide you through every step of the Chauffeur business and equip you with the ability and expertise you will require to become part of our management team.
During the programme you will receive structured classroom training, one to one coaching on specific competencies, mentoring with a senior manager and regular appraisal and feedback sessions. You will also keep a regular development journal (either daily, weekly, or monthly depending on the Level and competencies you are covering). This will be used as a tool to monitor your progress through the scheme and will form the basis of your monthly appraisal meetings.
The two year scheme will be broken down into six Levels taking you through from induction to management. At the conclusion of each Level you will be tested and interviewed prior to moving onto the next stage.
Each graduate will be placed in one of our flagship chauffeur branches, working at the cutting edge of our business.
Level One (Months 0-3)
Induction Week - Three Day Course
Your first three days with Smat Chauffeur Services will be spent with your fellow graduates at a one of our offices completing our comprehensive induction programme. During which time you will be given the opportunity to get to know each other in an informal setting. You will be given an in depth induction to the company along with very specific and detailed information about your training scheme. You will also attend a basic negotiating skills course and a basic valuations and instruction taking course. Your fourth and fifth day will be spent at your designated branch getting to know your colleagues and familiarising yourself with your new place of work.
Advanced Chauffeur Skills
Towards the end of Level One you will attend an advanced negotiators course covering aspects such as overcoming objections, tying up offers and closing skills.

During your second month you will spend your time working as an office administrator either within your main branch.
Level Two (Months 4-9)
Basic Legal Course – One Day Course
You will be given the general legal principals of the Chauffeuring process along with knowledge of contractual and legal requirements that are implicit in our everyday transactions.
Influences on the Chauffeuring and London streets, Roads - One Day Course
This course is designed to give you an overview of the various influences on our Customers place of pick-up. You will be given an understanding of the Customer Demand.
Advanced Valuation and Instruction Course – One Day Course
During this course you will learn about how to carry out effective market appraisals, how to overcome objections, obtaining our clients instructions and closing skills.

Understanding Client Accounts (during this Level you will also spend a week at our Client Accounts centre in London learning to perform all aspects of this discipline).
Level Three (Months 10-12)
Property Management Course – One Day Course
You will learn about the fundamental principals of managing our clients accounts including bookings, check-in and check-out procedures, deposit releases, Clients office visits and safety regulations.
As members of the Association of Chauffeur we expect all employees to take and pass their professional exam covering the basic legal requirements of the Private Hire industry. This is a nationally recognised qualification and enables you to become an individual member of the association. You will be given a comprehensive training and mentoring to enable you to achieve this qualification.

Understanding team management; once you have completed the team management course you will spend at least four weeks working in the local team management centre.

Having successfully completed the full graduate programme you will be invited to apply for management vacancies that may be available within the different disciplines of our business. These include the branch network, team management, client accounts, marketing and promotions, operations and procedures, customer services, corporate clients and training. These posts are based throughout ourLondon Region
We expect you to be ambitious and successful and to be part of our future expansion and growth. For the right employees there are more opportunities available in their future career including the running of large flagship Chauffeur Services, becoming a senior manager responsible for a large successful branch along with overseeing one or more other branches, Regional Partners responsible for the development and growth of areas with between 20 and 50 chauffeur cars..

Academic Requirements
In order to be eligible for the scheme we require you to have a minimum of a 2-3 years Driving exprience.
Other Requirements
You must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
