Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham festival – The National Hunt meeting, up until 2005 had traditionally been a three day horse racing event but had to change to four due to its growth and success over the years. This meant a championship race each day climaxing with the Gold cup on the forth day. The four day event - The Gold cup, the champion hurdle, the queen mother champion race and the stayers hurdle are four days of horse riding excitement for both riders and spectators. Cheltenham festival also sees the fox hunter's chase which is run on the same day as the Gold cup and sometimes referred to as the amateur's Gold cup.
